Disney Characters Give Deaf Boy The Surprise Of His Life By Using Sign Language

Just when we thought Disneyland couldn’t get any more magical, Pluto, Minnie, and Mickey created a magical moment for one of the youngest Olive Crest kids, by communicating with him in sign language!

Every year, Olive Crest, an organization dedicated to preventing child abuse, to treating and educating at-risk children, hosts its incredible foster and adoptive families on a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth: Disneyland. This year during their annual trip, some of the characters made one particular little boy’s dream come true – and people’s hearts all over the world melt.

The little boy was looking at the characters when suddenly Mickey and Minnie Mouse kneeled down next to him and signed “It’s nice to meet” and “I love you.” The child’s reaction was priceless as he proceeded to lean in and give them each big warm hugs.

Olive Crest shared a heartwarming video of the encounter on their Facebook page, which then went viral for obvious reasons! The videos caption read, “Just when you thought Disneyland couldn’t get any more magical… Watch as Pluto, Minnie, and Mickey surprises one of our Olive Crest kids by communicating with him in sign language! His reaction says it all.”

An Olive Crest casework who was onsite commented, “Guys, this kid is the most incredible child I’ve ever met. He is mostly deaf, so the ASL translator is behind him, signing to the characters so they can copy her and communicate with the little guy.” Another spokesperson for Olive Crest told news sources, “The child was ecstatic after meeting the characters because he didn’t know they would speak ‘his language'”.

Although Olive Crest, cannot disclose the name or age of the child, they did say, “ We hope to send the message that with a little love and ‘magic,’ that you can truly make a child’s dream come true and provide them a bright memory that can last a lifetime.”
