Eva Mendes Gives Sweet Response To Ryan Gosling’s Golden Globes Speech

Although Eva Mendes wasn’t able to attend the 2017 Golden Globes in person, she was there in spirit, especially while her hubby Ryan Gosling delivered his heartwarming acceptance speech, proving he is the ultimate Hollywood husband.

At the ceremony on Sunday, Gosling took home his first ever Golden Globe award for his work in the film La La Land and while accepting the award used his few minutes to make a special declaration of his love for his wife, Eva Mendez. During his speech, Gosling thanked Mendes for being an incredible, mother, woman, and sister, which has allowed him to reach the level of success he’s attained. Gosling said, “While I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer. If she hadn’t taken all of that on so I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today, so, sweetheart, thank you”. As if that wasn’t enough, Gosling also dedicated the award in memory of Mendez’s brother, Juan Carlos Mendes.

While Eva is typically one to shy away from speaking publicly about her marriage, she made an exception for her hubby’s sweet gesture and addressed it gracefully in a short Instagram post. Mendes posted a photo of fellow musician and friend, Janelle Monae’s dramatic red carpet look, with a caption that subtly hinted to her hubby’s kind words being the best part of the evening for her. She posted,“Obviously this wasn’t my favorite moment of the night, but it was definitely my favorite style moment of the night. The stunning and talented Monae is killing me with this look”.

The A-List love birds rarely step out together at Hollywood events, but they have been together and going strong for six years since hitting it off after meeting on the set of 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines. While it’s still unclear whether or not Mendes will accompany Gosling to the Academy Awards that will be held in February, we’re sure that he’ll be up for another nomination for his knockout performance in La La Land, with more kind words for his leading lady.
